After roaming through my GCSE art work which I haven't done in years, I came across my phoenix creation. It was drawn by hand, then coloured with black indian ink, with bleach brushed onto it in certain areas, making the ink turn a gorgeous gold colour. It was then cut out using a pen knife and stuck to a flamey background made up of marble paper and oil pastels.
It's not a bad pice of art, but looking at it with hindsight, has made be realise that I've improved as an artist since then, and that I can do much, much better.
So my gaze fell upon the stack of canvas boards that I haven't used yet and the unopened acrylics. Perhaps I can make something more appealing with what materials I have at hand...
The research begins!
